Pretty Paper baskets April 30, 2009

I mentioned the Stampin’ Up Top Note die cut in my Catching Up post. Here is another cool use for it.  These cute little basket/bags are so easy to make!My craft mentor Julia was kind enough to give me her old Cuttlebug when she purchased her new Big Shot from Stampin’ Up.  I bought the Top Note die and can cut it myself!

These are made with small white bags, I cut most of the bag off and leave a short tiny bag, cut 2 Top Notes and adhere to both sides of the bag, then I punch out a small scallop oval for the handle and use the cut oval and some embellishments to finish off the bag. Then tie up with a ribbon. I love these! Another good idea for so many occasions.  Just one reminder on these, you must use double sided paper.  This beautiful paper is from the Raspberry Tart collection at Stampin’ Up.

A little bit of catching up to do April 30, 2009

Finally got the camera to download. So I really do have a little catching up to do. Bear with me!

First, we go back to February and my niece Shelby’s 15th birthday.  I made her a little cake, Dr. Suess style.  If you look closely you can see it is lopsided! Oh well! And then cupcakes for the group. Shelby loved the cake even though it was lopsided!

Next we go to that unfinished wall in my living room. Here is my temporary solution.  I had previously used the artsy squares at another home, then lent them to my mom when I wasn’t using them.  She gave them back to me. I think we are both nuts! I found the metal piece at the Galt Market for $20.00. I haven’t painted yet, but when I do, who knows,  I may go back to black and white artwork.

Now we go to an inexpensive corkboard project.  Paint the frame black, use 3m spray adhesive and an inexpensive piece of fabric and there you have it! The most expensive item was the spray adhesive, but it’s a big can, so I should get quite a few projects out of it.

Now we have a few cool things I learned from Stampin’ Up.  The purse is made with the Top Note die cut. This is the coolest die cut! You can do so much with it.  The wrapped candy bar is the greatest idea for any occasion party favor. The little basket was more on the difficult side. It was also made with Stampin’ Up die cuts.
