Oh Holy Night! December 24, 2008

I really can’t believe that Christmas Eve is tomorrow.  Yes, it is true!!

I have enjoyed the preparations, the music, the baking, the decorations.  I have kept the radio station in my car on the Christmas channel (92.5 Sacramento CA) and heard many different renditions of Oh Holy Night.  I have enjoyed them all, but I must say that at the moment Faith Hill, Il Divo and Clay Aiken are my favorites.

But at the end of the day, I must remember what this season is all about. The birth of Christ.   I will remember to give thanks for my abundance of blessings.  And just as important, I must remember those who are in need. Those who are hurting due the loss of a loved one in recent months.  Those that are ill, those that have lost their jobs.

I wish you and yours a Peaceful and Joyous Christmas.

A New Holiday Tradition! December 23, 2008

The Stockton Thunder Stadium was open for public ice skating yesterday.  If you had a group of 10 people it was only $3.00 per person, including skates!!! So we got the kids together and went for it!!

We loaded up a tailgate lunch and even though it was raining we had a pre skate tailgate party!

We went inside and got our tickets and then were greeted by none other than Jolly Old St. Nick!

Then we were off to skate!!! I think all the kids enjoyed it.  I know I sure did. The Christmas music was playing and it was great!!! I hope we can do it again next year.

If this sounds like a good idea to you, let me just make a couple suggestions based on our experience yesterday.  They opened at 10 for the special Holiday skate session.  We got there about 12:30 and it wasn’t too crowded. However the later it got the more crowded it got and by 3 pm the line was huge for skates!

We have already decided that we would like to go again next year, but we will be there when they open, and have our tailgate party after we skate!!!!

tour2-001Welcome back!!!! I didn’t set up my It’s A Wonderful Life Village until last week, so it wasn’t in my first tour.  But I love this movie and couldn’t resist showing my little Bedford Falls village where good old George lived. Just added the snow today!

And I just couldn’t forget good ole’ Tommy and Tina. They are such a cute couple! tour2-004

I just had to show you one more snowman.  He was a birthday gift a couple years ago.  I haven’t given him a name yet.  OK, that is enough snowman sharing for one year!

Thanks for stopping by again! Hope you enjoyed the 2nd tour. tour2-003

Oldies and a new item here.  These candlesticks are old and one is broken, may have to retire them this year. The candle arrangement was found at Costco last year. sofatable

Last stop on our tour of my little living room.  I added some berries, ribon and lights to this vase to “Christmas” it up.  I love it!  I love everything Christmas!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you come back next Christmas for another tour!  I wish you and your loved ones a Very Merry Christmas and A Happy Healthy New Year!berries
